Frequently Asked Questions

I am based in South West Birmingham, near the Lickeys Hills. However, locations are based on your preference and convenience. I want the location to be special to you and your dog. All details of the shoot are discussed at our free phone consultation.
-
Of course. This is not unusual.
We have options such as taking photos so that the lead can be edited out. Alternatively, we can simply include you so that the lead is a normal part of your relationship.
-
Absolutely. Most of the best shots are in action! Sniffing, exploring, chasing, hugging, etc.
-
Yes. Our first priority is always the welfare of your dog and others around us. We can discuss this during the free phone consultation.
We will choose our time and location carefully, preferring known environments, and staying on the lead. I will also spend more time to get to know your dog and make sure they are comfortable with me in odd positions (e.g., kneeling and laying on the floor).

You can buy any package as a gift. Please use the contact page.
I do not sell vouchers on the website. We want to ensure the package (and me) are right for your dog. I do not want to take your money until we know I am right for you.
-
For a detailed description of the process, see the blog post here.
In short, there are 4 steps. 1) A free phone consultation to check the package and arrangements. 2) A pre-shoot email pack with details and advice for the day. 3) The photoshoot or class. 4) Image delivery within 2 weeks via my website.
-
Package prices and durations are based on one dog. One additional dog costs £XX.
Additional dogs is possible (and great fun!) and can be discussed at the consultation. This is required to make arrangements (e.g., additional appropriate people to support the dogs).
-
Really, we just need you and your dog!
However, other items can make the shoot easier and more comfortable. For example, treats, toys, brush, towel, etc.
Do not forget about your own warmth and comfort. If we are outside and walking, make sure you are equipped.
Do not worry, these will be discussed during the free consultation and in the pre-shoot email pack.
-
Yes, of course. We will start by prioritising your dog and then can include you. Please note I am a dog photographer and not a family photographer. If unsure, lets discuss it and check I am right for you.
-
Anyone> Photoshoots are great fun and the session can be a wonderful memory in itself.
We need to make sure that your dog is not over stimulated or constantly distracted, so we need to manage the group if we are to get the best images.
-
We can conduct the shoot at any time. The best light is usually early morning, late evening.
We can arrange this during the free consultation.
-
If the weather is very wet and stormy to be unsafe we will reschedule the photoshoot. We will check in a couple of days before to confirm.
Keep in mind that wet and wild conditions can make for some extreme photos!
-
I use the editing process to emphasis the beauty of your dog and draw focus on them.
I am happy to remove a lead. However, I do not like removing lots of small details that make the image feel real. See my blog about editing for example of before and after images.
