What To Expect On Your Studio Shoot

Never done a studio photoshoot for your dog before? Do not worry.
It always helps to know what you are taking on. So here is what you can expect throughout the process.

From the moment you reach out to Mark Holland Dog Photography, it is designed to be a smooth, enjoyable process. The studio shoots are great fun and provide the highest quality images.

The journey begins on my Contact page. Get in touch and note which package(s) you are interested in. If you are not sure, you can select more than one. Take a moment to explore the About Me page too. It’ll give you an idea of who I am, my style, and why I am here.

Free Phone Consultation

Once you’ve submitted your details, we’ll arrange a convenient time to chat by phone. Don’t worry; it’s not a serious "business call." It’s more like a friendly catch-up. During our call, we’ll cover all the essentials: We will confirm the time and location of the shoot. I’ll ask about your dog’s personality and quirks. I’ll explain what happens on the day, so you and your dog feel ready. Lastly, we’ll discuss what to bring - treats, toys, and their fanciest collar!

Pre-Shoot Email

While it is not complex, I do not expect you to remember everything. To make things easy, I’ll send a follow-up email outlining everything we discussed - plans, tips, and a kit list. I hope this helps you to relax and look forward to the day.

The Shoot!

When the day arrives, we’ll take everything at your dog’s pace. First, we’ll let them get comfortable with me, my camera, and the studio equipment. Before we start, we will fire the studio lights and provide lots of positive reinforcement to make sure they feel safe. Then, we’ll dive into capturing some images. Expect various portraits including seated and standing, facing different directions, and with lights in slightly different spots. Exactly what we get will depend on your dog.

You will be involved throughout to help your dog feel comfortable, keep looking in the best direction, and staying interested. Do not worry, this is dead easy and I will talk you through every step.

Image Delivery

You will receive access to a private online gallery no more than two weeks after the shoot. Here, you can download high-resolution images and select favourites for printing.

Enjoy Your Images

Now for the fun part - enjoy your dog’s photos! Show them off on social media (don’t forget to tag #MarkHollandPhoto) or frame them to admire daily.
